BodyMove Summer Sessions 02 @ Egg

BodyMove @ EGGAfter a record-breaking crowd at the last BodyMove event, BodyMove’s August event hosts an Exclusive set from New York’s DJ Disciple alongside Seb Zito (Fuse/Off Recordings), Femi B of Strictly Rhythm and South Africa’s biggest house import, Dirty Dubbin headed up by Sleazy G.

Working The BodyMove Allstars & Tek Terrace is DJ Disciple, blessed with a limitless passion for dance music and spirituality and who’s back in London for the first time this year. From rocking his Catch 22 label to spinning across the globe. Disciple’s house music fervour knows no bounds and he is joined by Strictly Rhythm’s Femi B and Tool Box Record’s Leo Yeomans.

The Basement this month hones into the London underground scene with guest Seb Zito rocking the tech/acid infusions he’s know for. He is joined by the Guest*Star DJ’s spinning an Italo-flavoured electro and tech-house party selection and Reel Rebel Radio’s Jewels Hartnell and Zombie Sound System’s Dean Marc.

South Africa’s biggest House export, DIRTYdubbin, famous for being the No.1 SA brand in the UK and Ibiza as well as being the international platform for all home-grown artists abroad, take over The Apothecary (Egg’s club within a club). Powered by head honcho Sleazy G, (who also runs a record label of the same name) and joined by Gareth Ross of “Hey Boy/Hey Girl” fame, expect their trademark ‘dirty dubby house” music all night long.

The Loft hosts Platinum Records with Mike Pickets, Fikdik, Insight and friends, and rounding it all off in The Garden is the Future Sound Of London with Lee Raphael, Sounds Of Justice & Many more T.b.c.

BodyMove has been sparkling and transforming the Egg into the capital’s cosmopolitan newest Upfront House, Electronica and Nu Disco haven spread across its three unique floors and impressive garden for the past six months.

Transformed for the evening with customised production and visuals, confetti explosions, performance and animation team and dance shows, BodyMove always puts on the glitz for a late-night party crowd. With massive parties helmed by Radio 1 DJ diva, Lottie alongside Caged Baby’s producer/DJ achemist Thomas Gandey, BodyMove has seen sets from Mr C (Superfreq/ Sychopant Slags), Junior Jack & Kid Creme, Michael Gray (Full Intention/Robot Man), AudioDamage and Boy George.

And with this sensational summer, enjoy chilled beats in Egg’s secret weapon and place to be seen partying in, The Garden.

door. Previews // Paul TJ

Paul TJ has been with us from the very first Never Grow Up and a good mate of door. His electro tightly mixed style giving contrasting and complimenting flavours to the night as a whole. We’re glad he is back and not falling over in snow for this one and will be finishing off upstairs in banging fashion. Here’s his specifics!

What have you been up to today?
Finishing of a presentation report for a client while listening to some Steve Lawler on www.be-at.tv. I just returned from a nice walk in the sun around Holborn for lunch.

Where you from?
Originally from Sydney and have moved around a lot in Australia. I have also lived in NYC.

Where d’you live?
I’ve been living in West Kensington for almost 5 years now and I love it there. It’s close to the river and has easy access to central London.

What do you like most about London?
There is always something going on, always something to do… you can never get bored.

What where you listening to as a kid jumping around in your bedroom?
Mostly grunge and 90s hip hop. I didn’t get into electronic music until I was about 15. The Prodigy and Chemical Brothers changed everything for me.

Hot tunes to look out for this summer?
I’d be surprised if Deadmau5 didn’t come up with something worthwhile for the summer. I’d like to hear a remix of Prodigy’s ‘Omen’. I think Pendulum would do another fine job at that.

What was your first vinyl?
One of them was Plump DJs Electric Disco special edition ‘see-through’ vinyl. I still have it at home although I’ve made the switch to CD.

What’s new from you for 2009?
Getting back out there mixing regularly again after a few months of demanding ‘day job’ work. Being an Aussie I would be keen on doing an outdoor gig in the summer, a small festival would be an incredible atmosphere.

Where can we catch you after Never Grow Up?
I haven’t thought about that yet! Any ideas??

You looking forward to slamming our Never Grow Up crowd? Here’s your chance to get ‘em excited.
Definitely. I’m gutted I missed the last one due to a snowboarding holiday. I’m going to be playing some relatively new releases selected to my taste and style, so be prepared to D.A.N.C.E
